NEORTPO Expands to Serve 14 Counties Through New Partnership

The Grand Gateway Economic Development Association (GGEDA) has announced a strategic partnership with the Eastern Oklahoma Development District (EODD) to expand the Northeast Oklahoma Regional Transportation Planning Organization (NEORTPO).

This partnership strengthens regional collaboration and broadens the scope of long-range transportation planning across northeast Oklahoma. With the addition of new member counties, NEORTPO’s planning region will now encompass 14 counties, including Adair, Cherokee, Craig, Delaware, Mayes, McIntosh, Muskogee, Nowata, Okmulgee, Ottawa, Rogers, Sequoyah, Wagoner, and Washington.

The expansion aims to enhance connectivity, streamline transportation planning efforts, and ensure all participating communities have a unified voice in future infrastructure and mobility initiatives.

“By aligning our efforts with EODD, we’re creating a stronger regional network that supports safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation for all residents,” said [Insert GGEDA or NEORTPO representative name and title, if available]. “This collaboration ensures northeast Oklahoma continues to move forward together.”

NEORTPO works closely with local governments, ODOT, tribal nations, and community stakeholders to identify priorities and guide transportation investment across the region. The organization provides a regional framework for data-driven planning, public engagement, and funding strategies that reflect local needs and state goals.
